Picture this: It’s Friday night. You and bae decide to skip out on that wild party your friends have been talking about for weeks. But, you want to make a date out of staying home. What better way to spend a romantic night indoors than with skincare. Yes, it’s true, skincare can be romantic! Think about it: why spend the night out on the town when you and bae can turn up in fluffy robes and effective skincare? I don’t know about you, but that sounds like one hell of a time.
So, grab a mask, your wine of choice, and kick-back with your skincare soulmate for the perfect skincare date-night. Here are a few tips for your cozy night in:
Keep It Simple
Although, you may or may not be accustomed to having a strict, 10-step skincare routine throughout the week, for date night, keep it simple. From experience with my own S.O., your partner might not be too adept at the art of applying skincare, so sticking to a mask will do the trick.
Most of us would agree that masking with a boyfriend/girlfriend is a great way to achieve great skin while snapping cute Instagram worthy pics. Who knows, you might even get your partner excited about skincare!
Tip: Try double masking. Start with a purifying mask (i.e. clay mask) and follow-up with a hydrating one.
Some honorable (mask) mentions include:
- Lush Cosmetics Mask of Magnaminty (an all-time favorite of mine)
- Farmacy’s Honey Potion (some honey for your honey)
- Fresh Beauty’s Rose Face Mask (making roses romantic in a different way)
Netflix & Chill
Before you get any ideas, I’m keeping this Netflix and chill session PG for the sake of skincare (Although, I would love a Carrie Bradshaw moment). While you and bae are letting those masks dry down, catch up on your favorite show or binge watch some rom coms for serious #couplegoal vibes. Pour the wine, order a pizza, and relax.
Tip: Don’t forget about your masks! Make sure to set an alarm for about 15 minutes (or depending on the masks recommendation) as a reminder to wash your masks off. After that, you can binge watch with glowing complexions.
One More Thing…
Who says you need a bae for the perfect skincare date night? Invite your girl gang. Make it a mommy/daughter date. Or better yet…do it by yourself!
Remember: Skincare is self-care. Whether it’s with boyfriend/girlfriend, or BFF, don’t forget to treat yourself!
