What is selfcare? Selfcare can be anything from skincare, working out, getting your nails done, hot yoga to your diet. It is vital for individuals to take the time to care for themselves. As cliché as it sounds, you need to take the time to care for yourself in order to care for others. Selfcare can start with simple healthy diet changes.

A diet full of superfoods high in antioxidants and anti-inflammatories can transform your skin. Skincare is essential for your skin, but healthy skin starts with what you are putting into your body. It is important to incorporate whole ingredients into your diet and find what works for you.

Turmeric is incredible for the body and skin. Turmeric is known for its bright orange coloring, but packs a punch with its anti-inflammatory properties. The superfood has shown to have anti-aging properties, heal dry skin and prevent acne flare-ups. Incorporate turmeric into your day with a delicious golden milk latte with black pepper. Yes, black pepper – black pepper activates the turmeric.

Turmeric Golden Milk

Heat milk over the stove and add other ingredients. Whisk the ingredients till smooth and frothy.

½ tsp Ground Turmeric

1 cup Plant Based Milk (Almond, Oat, etc.)

1 tsp Honey or Maple Syrup

Pinch of Black Pepper

Optional: Add Cinnamon, Cardamom, Stevia

Many of us are scared of fats and carbs, both extremely important food groups. Fats do not make you fat – you heard it here first. As a great source of vitamin E, healthy fats are nuts, seeds, avocados, coconut oil and olive oil. Fats can transform your skin with its high levels of omega 3’s and 6’s. Chia and hemp seeds are superfoods with high omega fatty acids which reduce inflammation.

Glowy Green Smoothie

Blend all ingredients till smooth or desired texture.

1 Banana

1 cup Ice

½ cup Water

1 tbsp Chia Seed

1 tbsp Hemp Seed

½ Avocado

2 Handfuls of Spinach

1 tsp Acai Powder

Optional: 1 Scoop of Plant Based Protein Powder

Avo-Oil Toast

Food Network

Toast bread till golden brown and smash avocado with a fork. Add the avocado to the toast and top with desired ingredients.

2 Slices of Ezekiel Bread (Sub for any bread with whole ingredients)

½ Avocado

1 tbsp Hemp Seed

1 tsp Olive Oil

Pinch of salt and pepper

Optional: Poached Egg and Cayenne Pepper
