Because my career is in the beauty industry, I am constantly bringing home new products with me to experiment with, all in the name of research. Because I try so many different things all the time, it’s rare I’ll finish an entire bottle of something – if I do, it’s usually because I really, really loved it. Below are new products I’ve recently finished, alongside my mini reviews:
Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution- I mentioned this in my top shelf post last month, but it definitely deserves a second shout out due to the fact that it has helped visibly lighten some of my hyperpigmentation spots in just 3 months. My only complaint is that it runs out quite quickly, but if like me you’ve tried numerous dark spot correctors and haven’t found one that really works, I’d recommend giving this one a try.
Sunday Riley U.F.O. Ulta-Clarifying Face Oil- In full disclosure I’ve gone through 3 bottles of this dry oil, so it is by no means a recent discovery. But I keep re-purchasing this stuff because it does exactly what it says – absorbs quickly, treats acne, and overall promotes clearer skin. If you’ve been hearing about the benefits of incorporating an oil into your skincare routine but are afraid it will make you break out more, look no further than this gem!
First Aid Beauty 5-in-1 Bouncy Mask: I typically go for clay masks that claim to suck all the gunk out of your pores but I decided to try this mask a few months ago and I’m so glad I did! First Aid Beauty claims that this mask is “the perfect treatment to achieve a renewed complexion” and I couldn’t agree more. I used this mask every time I wanted to give my complexion a little boost, while traveling, or before an event. The texture of this mask is unlike any other, but you’ll just have to buy it yourself to experience firsthand!
Kevyn Aucoin The Sculpting Contour Powder: By no means do I contour every day, but I purchased this powder a while back to use on special occasions, and just got through my first compact. I loved it so much I bought another before I even ran out! I use shade medium and it does a nice job of giving my face natural-looking definition – so much so that I might need to start waking up earlier every day to give myself a more chiseled look on the regular!
Shea Moisture Hand & Body Scrub: I am really picky when it comes to body scrubs – I like to use something with rough scrubbies that really slough off my top layer of skin. Enter: Shea Moisture. This scrub is a rough exfoliator yet keeps my skin feeling soft and moisturized. I make sure to always have a tub of this in the shower!
Jo Malone Wood, Sage, & Sea Salt Candle: I’m a sucker for burning gorgeous candles and my sister got me this one, which is in my favorite Jo Malone scent, for my birthday back in January. I tried to use it as slowly as possible, but I finally finished it last month. They are expensive but are an amazing gift or “treat yourself!” product. Coincidentally, I used up the matching cologne around the same time!
