REVIEW: Dr. Jart Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment

By Nina Haines

Hello everyone! My name is Nina Haines and I’m so excited to be a guest writer for Vic’s Vanity over the next few months. For my first article, I really wanted to share a miracle skincare product that I have started to use every single day of my life… not kidding.

I’ve suffered from rosacea since I was a little girl, making my cheeks blotchy and red all the way down to my chin (my mom just said they’re “rosy”). On top of that, after a few uninformed facialists and over exfoliating, I’m currently in the process of repairing my skin barrier, a tragedy that resulted in lots of texture and added redness to the mix. As someone who doesn’t own foundation, I didn’t know where to turn, as my skin (besides the rosacea) was always quite clear and smooth before!

When I was reading Emily Ferber’s article on how she saved her skin post-over-exfoliation on Into The Gloss – she recommended the Dr. Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment with broad spectrum SPF 30. This no-foundation-kind-of-foundation starts as a green, thick, cream and then blends seamlessly into your skin on top of skincare, neutralizing redness and protecting you from pollution and the sun. Dr. Jart kindly gifted me a few tubs for me to try out, and here are my thoughts:

In the morning, I cleanse my skin with the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser and then prep with Klairs Supple Preparation Toner andCosRx Snail Mucin Power Essence. Next, I use Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum, Biologique Recherche Des Yeux VIP O2 eye cream, Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich, and to top it all of, Mario Badescu Rosewater Aloe spray.

The directions on the jar say to apply it in place of moisturizer after serum. I have dry skin and it’s still pretty cold in NYC, plus the product is so thick and can be a bit drying if you don’t use a good moisturizer, so I made sure to apply as I would a SPF.

As you can see from the photos, my skin is significantly less red and is glowing! I love the dewy finish this product gives, and I don’t need to use with powder on a day to day basis. While it doesn’t cover everything, it helps me feel a lot more confident walking out the door!

Ultimately, I give it a 9/10 – I docked a point because it doesn’t work in place of a moisturizer like it claims, and you can’t layer up too much for extra correcting. But, overall, I love this product and will continue to use it! It’s sold out currently on Sephora (for good reason, clearly), but get on that email list to be notified when it’s back in stock.

Let me know in the comments below if you have tried it!

Hi Nina,
Welcome to Victoria’s Vanity and thanks for the informative article and photos. Your skin looks beautiful and I’m sure it will continue to improve with your regimen. Thank you for explaining all your products and the order in which you use them. That’s very go to know! Since I have more mature skin, I’m definitely going to try the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum. Thanks again!

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
