I was fortunate enough to visit the Caudalie Boutique Spa on Washington Street last week and the experience was wonderful! They have a mini cafe with the most delicious tea that detoxes the skin. Along with croissants, scones, and other little snacks. Other than having tea with one of their lovely PR assistants, I learned so much about the brand and how special their ingredients are.
- Cleansed with Instant Foaming Cleanser
- Toned with Moisturizing Toning Lotion
- Spritzed with Beauty Elixir
- Followed by the Vine[Activ] Serum
- Moisturized with Sorbet Cream
As I walked into the spa, I immediately knew I walked into a wonderland of all French products. What I didn’t know was that Caudalie has patents on all their products. For good reason, too. Their vine extracts that are incorporated in their products are straight from the vineyards in France. One of their key ingredients is grape-seed extracts, otherwise known as polyphenols. This is a natural anti-oxidant which fights free-radical damage and preserves the skin natural “plumping” agent, which is collagen. The Vine[Activ] line is rich in polyphenols.
Never underestimate the importance of a beauty elixir. This is easily my new favorite product. This product was inspired by Queen Isabelle of Hungary’s elixir of youth*. It tightens pores, sets makeup, and has natural antibacterial agents which kills bacteria on your face (aka pimple prevention). I received a full size bottle but also a travel sized, which I took on the plane with me. It smelled so good that everyone around me wanted to use it too!
Before I started my all Caudalie regime, my skin was somewhat dull from the city pollution and cold temperatures. And, I also had a few hormonal breakouts around my chin and nose. A week later, my skin is bright and my bumps disappeared! I was worried that not exfoliating for a week would harm my skin instead of help but, the cleanser worked so well I didn’t feel the need to exfoliate! The french really know their stuff!
