How To: Figuring Out Your Face Shape

Knowing your face shape is as useful as knowing which skin type you have or understanding what hairstyle looks best on you. However, figuring out which type of face shape you have is very challenging. It is definitely easier said than done. I will give you tips and clues on which type of face shape you have. Important reminder: Every face shape is beautiful. 

There are 6 different types of face shapes. Diamond, heart, rectangular, square, oval, and round. 

Diamond

Diamond shaped men and women have high cheek bones, narrow hairline, and pointed chins. Celebrities that have a diamond face shape are Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Greene, and Dane Cook. 

 

Heart 

Heart shaped faces tend to have the forehead as the widest part of their face and a pointed chin. Celebrities that have heart shaped faces are Resse Witherspoon, Sarah Hyland, and Ryan Gosling. 

 

Rectangular 

Also known as “Oblong”, rectangular face shapes are similar to square face shapes but are a bit longer than wide. Your forehead, cheeks, and chin are relatively all the same width. Celebrities with rectangular face shapes: Sarah Jessica Parker, Alexa Chung, and Adam Levine. 

Square 

If you have a square face shape the sides of your face are straight and your jawline is angled with a small curve. If you measure the edge of your temple to the top of your jawline, it would be the same distance from your jawline left to right. Celebrities with your face shape: Cameron Diaz, Angelina Jolie, and Brad Pitt.

Oval

Men and women with oval face shapes have a forehead that is a little bit wider than their curved chin. Celebrities with oval face shapes: Olivia Munn, Kerry Washington, and George Clooney. 

 

Round 

A round face is simply a square face with softer angles and your cheekbones are the widest part of your face. Celebrities with a round face shape: Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, and  Kanye West.
